teomauistli
year 1: xinachtli/seed

DISTANCE LEARNING
9 month BIPOC plant  + ancestor journey

welcome into teomaustli, the sacred

we are sacred. we are the sacredness of our ancestors. we are the seeds of resistance, resilience, and hope that they planted for these times. yet our black, indigenous, API, people of color histories + realities of being enslaved, damned, murdered, and taken by the claws of colonization, white supremacy, and capitalism sometimes makes our sacredness inaccessible. teomaustli is a multi-year ceremony with 3 rites of passages rooted in recovering + recommitting to our rightful path as sacred. a recovery that is only possible by (re)membering our sacredness, the sacredness of all beings, and being in right relation with our first mother, earth.

teomauistli year 1: xinachtli/seed

year 1 xinachtli/seed is a 9 month prayer where we meet the seed of the sacredness planted within us. we welcome you to a prayer of remembrance, where in (re)membering ourselves, we (re)member each other and the sacredness of all beings. during this journey we humbly meet spirit, our ancestors, and the medicine in the wounds of having our existence be resistance. we journey in comradeship with plant ancestors and the people of the lands we live on to the medicine within. we practice ways to live in integrity with the medicine that lives around us, before looking outward to other's cultures or others for the medicine we need. we sit in meditation, make offerings, and co-create ceremonies for the healing we deserve. through this journey we prepare, nourish + redefine our soils, so that our seeds dare to live, dare to break through their seed coat + sprout into their sacred form.

release yourself into all that you are. continue reading to begin teomauistli year 1: xinachtli/seed.

our energetic exchange

honoring each other's labor + wisdom

we live + survive with the support of our community, that's YOU. we labor for you from our ancestors' wisdom to our physical labor in preparing materials to spiritual labor in holding your specific journey. we humbly ask for an energetic exchange that honors our work. your financial contributions support your own and other's journeys to ancestor who are coming from historically oppressed communities. your financial contribution is a direct investment in the sustainability of xóchicoatl + the VITAL work of our community partners, who are healers, cooks, caretakers, urban farmers, prison abolitionists, and liberators. we invite you into a process of decolonizing your fears around money, and consider how to make this exchange the most mutual.
we operate on a SLIDING SCALE based rooted in an honor system: 9 month journey $1000-1500, seasonal journey $333-555. this is an opportunity for us to reflect on the privileges, resources, and abundance we are able to share for this invaluable experience of healing in community. this is an opportunity to care for each other where we are at. for support on where you land on the scale visit DEFINING SLIDING SCALE. this is an honor system, we do not ask for any proof of your situation, we trust in your palabra to honor our work the best way you can at this moment.

XINACHTLI/SEED APPLICATION
XINACHTLI is the little spark of mycorrizhal juicyness that inspires the latent remedios of DNA into waking tf up and weaves us together, remembering, through the vehicle of sacred Mexica ceremony and centering black and brown trans femme diasporic education and deep homage.
Xinachtli is lineage magic, channeled from the hearts and hopes of thousands of abuelitas and two spirit ancestor and plantcestor benevolence, practiced and held every day with so much love and fierce strength.

So beyond grateful to have found this cohort, these connections, this affirmation and validation of my roots, our roots!! Boundless gratitude for the existence of Xochicoatl and the magnitude of container that she has created. So needed. So nourishing. So much pulling open and taking new shapes beyond the narrative of colonization. Xinachtli changed my entire trajectory by connecting me to my own ancestors and medicines, and then connecting me to my community, our community.

Valentina Kai
xinachtli 2020
Xochicoatl consistently creates some of the safest spaces I have ever known.
During my 9 months in the xinachtli program, I felt supported in reconnecting with long-neglected parts of myself, my family, and my lineage. The relationships I was supported in building with plant medicines helped me heal and grow in ways I didn't know I had needed. xinachtli is a space to reflect and explore wonder, rage, grief, joy, and the loving embrace of community. It is a space for sharing with authenticity and being witnessed with compassion. I can honestly say this experience changed my life, and I am so grateful.
